The row counts and dates on this page are read from the live tables, so they describe the extract you are about to download rather than the one we meant to publish.

If you are deciding whether to rely on any of it, read the methodology first — it sets out where the figures come from, what “as of” means, and where the gaps are.

Covers 11 regions. Where a jurisdiction sets different ages for different classes of offence, the column holds the general minimum and the qualification is in the notes field. Countries with no verified figure are present with an empty age rather than dropped, so a count of rows is not a count of known ages.

The timeline begins where our sourcing begins, not where the history does. An absence of entries for a period is an absence of records here, not evidence that nothing changed.

Using this data

Attribution should name JuveLaw, link to the dataset page and state the date you retrieved it. The figures change as jurisdictions reform and as rows are re-verified, so a retrieval date is what makes a citation checkable.

There is no API key, no rate limit worth mentioning and no registration. If you need an extract shaped differently, or a field we hold but do not export, ask at [email protected].

If you find an error, please report it. Corrections are made to the record and the verification date is reset, rather than the old value being quietly overwritten — the history of a tracked field is itself part of the dataset.
